Yes, cable is in denial.
Broadband Reports ask the question, but I've been giving the answer ever sine I left the cable industry.
Here are just 3 examples:

Cable losing ground to DSL...well, duh!
Silly cable company...no customer for you!
And bear in mind: I don't even talk about cable very often.
